Choosing a Haircut for Your Face Shape
09 August 2026 · Efe Berber
When a cut looks great in a photo but different on you, the reason is usually the same: face shape. A cut looks right when it balances your proportions.
Round face
Volume on top with shorter sides adds length. Opening the sides too much works against you.
Long face
Avoid excessive height on top. Leaving a little more length at the sides restores balance.
Square face
A defined jaw carries most cuts; soft, textured tops work particularly well.
Heart-shaped face
A wider forehead and narrower chin call for some fullness at the sides.
Hair type decides too
Face shape alone is not enough. Fine hair will not hold heavy styles, and thick, wavy hair puffs up in very short cuts. The right cut sits where the two meet — we can work it out together at your appointment.
